Introduction
The Global Team Lead Documentation will lead and develop the documentation function within an international organisation, ensuring delivery of clear, accurate and compliant technical and commercial documentation for products and projects across multiple markets. Work location: Flexible within our international offices; hybrid work with regular travel to key sites and hubs.
What you'll do
Lead, coach and develop a distributed team of documentation specialists, technical writers and coordinators, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture and ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.
Define and own global documentation strategy, standards and templates to ensure consistency, accessibility and compliance across product lines and markets.
Ensure timely delivery of product manuals, data sheets, installation guides, specifications, tender documentation and other customer-facing materials in multiple languages and formats.
Collaborate with Product Management, Project Management, R&D, Quality and Regulatory teams to embed documentation requirements early in the product lifecycle and to maintain up-to-date technical content following change control procedures.
Maintain and improve documentation workflows, governance and tools (content management systems, single-sourcing, version control and localization processes) to increase efficiency and reduce time-to-market.
Manage localisation and translation processes, working with internal stakeholders and external language partners to ensure accurate and culturally appropriate content for each market.
Monitor documentation quality through reviews, audits and user feedback; implement continuous improvement actions and training to raise quality and compliance standards.
Provide subject-matter expertise and guidance on documentation-related regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to different regions and product categories.
Prepare and present reports, KPIs and improvement plans to senior management, highlighting risks, resource needs and opportunities for standardisation and automation.
Support commercial teams with accurate tender and specification documentation and act as an escalation point for complex documentation queries from customers and partners.
